Matt Sunberg

Matt Sunberg is a licensed master electrician and the founder of Lotus Electric in Duluth, Minnesota. Born and raised in the Duluth area, Matt has spent more than 17 years wiring, troubleshooting, and inspecting homes and businesses across northern Minnesota — from historic lakefront estates in Park Point and Lakeside to brand-new construction in Hermantown, Cloquet, and Two Harbors. Matt founded Lotus Electric in 2014 with one rule: every job is done to code, on the first inspection, with pricing customers see in writing before work begins. Today the company has completed over 500 projects and earned the Best of BusinessRate 2025 award.

Matt grew up in the Duluth area and developed a deep understanding of how this region's climate stresses electrical systems — the freeze-thaw cycles that loosen connections, the older 60- and 100-amp panels in hillside homes that weren't built for modern loads, the winter storms that turn a reliable backup generator from "nice to have" into "essential."
